Spring Course Preview: Encountering Christ In The Complexity Of Life

Easter Sunday has come and gone, but the implications of Easter still need to be worked out. Perhaps that is why the church made Easter a 50 day season similar to Lent.

To facilitate our journey through Easter I am starting up a 5-week study next Wednesday based on the post-resurrection stories in the gospel of John.   In this section of scripture Jesus encounters a grieving woman, a fearful band of disciples, a skeptic, and a man full of regret. We’ll explore how Christ speaks into these hard parts of life, and create space to look at some of the barriers that get in the way of following Christ more fully.

Join us for dinner at 6pm or come straight to the study at 6:45.  We’ll be meeting in the fireside room.  I will be drawing on Dale Bruner’s excellent commentary on the Gospel of John to guide us through these stories.
